Welcome to my very first blog post! Not sure why it has taken me two years to put one of these together, but better late than never! With 2020 just days away, I've been thinking a lot about the resolutions and goals I want to set for myself in 2020. So I figured, what better way to kick off the new year and my blog post career than with this New Years Eve themed couples session!!
It all started when I saw this perfect blue sequin dress online... and in that moment, I knew I had to photograph it haha! I've known Ali since high school and have always admired her and Andrew's adorable relationship. I reached out to them hoping they would be interested in dressing up and running around downtown with me for this shoot, and lucky for me they were!!
A few days before their session, I was driving through RiNo in Denver when I saw this super cool black and white mural on the side of one of the many painted buildings. The ever-changing art in RiNo is one of my favorite things about Denver! I knew when I saw the wall it would be the perfect backdrop for the blues Ali and Andrew would be wearing!
As expected, Ali freaking WORKED that sequin blue dress which went perfectly with Andrews navy suit! The pair flawlessly managed to make the disco ball prop not look awkward, and even obliged to dancing in the middle of the city as passer-by's watched!! Sticking with the black and white backdrop theme, we walked down the street to the perfect, pitch black wall to throw some star confetti and dance on a ledge. We ended the session with, you guessed it, more dancing as the sun went down.
I am so so happy with how this session turned out, and I am even happier that Ali and Andrew were my lovely models! Next up: their WEDDING in Palm Springs, CA!!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this post! I had so much fun telling the story behind this session, and I can't wait to do the same for many more! Love you all <3
